Gerbil cage requirements
Cage size
8o x 50 cm (620 square inches) is the minimum requirements for housing two gerbils more two gerbils you will need 40 x 25 cm (216 square inches) per gerbil.

Please remember this is only a minim require the bigger you can provide for gerbils the better, especially as they are very active.

A cage i recommend is the ikea detolf- this cage with need you make a lid for the enclosure.
Substrate
Within a gerbils cage they need a least 30 cm depth of bedding. The substrate you can use in your cage:
- Straw
- Hay
- Sand (pet safe safe)
- Aspen
- Carefresh

(It good to use many different types of substrate for different texture and enrichment
Natural
Within in a gerbil's cage it is important to have natural toys as gerbils are big chewers and non-natural toys can be toxic to gerbil if digested.

So it a good idea to have wooden toys only in their cage and using metal or ceramic dish in their cage for their food.
